Wanting to stay near the airport for our return to UK . . . .  refer to Lonely Planet- Piha seems OK and a hot recommendation for Black Sands Lodge.  Arrive after a long drive in the rain from Taupo, tired & not feeling our best . . .  but what a wonderful surprise - Piha & the exhuberant Bobbie and Julia.  But hey! Lonely Planet didn't say it was better than staying at Auckland's Botanic Gardens.  The elegant Kauri Suite is designed to give dramatic and beautiful views of the succulent and native gardens.  We also loved the nearby bush and beach walks and Bobbie's and Julia's welcome. A fabulous end to our New Zealand experience.  Many thanks Moira & Robin. Wimbledon, London.

Dear Bobbie & Julia.... with only one day to explor NZ we picked Piha out of a hat with many other choices . . .  just one day to get to know such a spectacular and magical country . . .  what a pity . . .  and yet as we drove through your gate and heard the ocean nearby we knew that our day in Piha would be enough to bring us back to NZ again.   Perhaps next week?   More likely next year . . .  but with such an indelable mark in our memories we will be back!  Your home, your hospitality, sheets and food were perfect!   We feel we have found a second home here . . .   A blissful getaway!   .... and, oh those cookies!  (Anzac)  See you again  Elizabetyh & Ron USA

Corey & Cathy loved their stay at Piha Beach in the Kauri Suite, even though it rained we still had fun! We enjoyed watching the All Blacks hammer Italy!  GO THE WARRIORS!!!  Sep '07

We will cherish the wonderful memories of our weekend here forever.  With four children, our home is fun, noisy and full of love - but definately lacking romance! Here, we have found tranquility, beauty, relaxation and the sumptious cullinary treats of your fabulous cooking (The Piha Kitchen) every evening. 

Check the cupboards thoroughly when we leave as there is a very good chance I will be hiding there reluctant to go back to the mayhem. Stay well, stay happy & live those dreams! Claire
